The J. S. S. College of Nursing (JSSCN) was started in the year 1997 by the foresight and vision of HH Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Shivarathreeswara Deshikendra Mahaswamiji to prepare professional nurses at university level and improve the standards of nursing service through quality education. The idea was conceived in 1990 and nurtured for seven long years. This is the first college of Nursing started in the city of Mysore as well as the first college of nursing in Mysore to start the Post Graduation course in Nursing. To college's motto is to maintain the standards of nursing education.
