St. Thomas College of Teacher Education (STCTE), Mylacompu, was established in the year 2005 as a self-financing institution affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University , Kottayam and recognized by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) F .KL/SEC/N/328/SRO/NCTE/2004-2005/764 Dtd. 23-02-2005. The college started functioning on 20th July 2005 with 100 students on the rolls for B.Ed Degree Course. Permission to start M.Ed. Degree Course was received on 5-1-2006 and the affiliation on 7-1-2008. NCTE granted permission to start M.Ed course on 15th February 2008. Classes began for the first batch of 25 M.Ed students on 25-02-2008 Mangement.
