Tamil Nadu Institute of Labour Studies (TNILS), Chennai was established in 1973. It is one of its kind in South India set by the Government of TamilNadu. From its inception, the Institute has been expanding its activities. 

The Institute offer two types of programmes are conducted viz.

1. Government sponsored programmes and
2. Fee collected seminars

The Institute is headed by a Director. He is assisted by the following officers including faculty members.
