Mizoram Polytechnic College (MPC), Lunglei was established in the year 1981. Initially It has introduced one diploma programme in Civil Engineering and later over the years, three more diploma programmes, namely those in Electrical, Mechanical and Computer Science and Engineering, were introduced in keeping with the changing needs of industry and the community.
The institute is located at Hrangchalkawn which is 8km from Lunglei, the District capital. Lunglei is located at about 160 kms. from the capital city of Aizawl.
Mizoram Polytechnic, Lunglei is administered by the Directorate of Higher & Technical Education and is funded by the State Government.
The polytechnic is one of the 15 polytechnics selected for institutional development under the Tech. Ed. III Phase of the World Bank Assisted Project.
The polytechnic is a co-educational institute and has an excellent track record in technical education. It has well-qualified and experienced faculty who are constantly in quest of new ideas and innovations to enhance the performance of the students and the reputation of the institution.
