Selection Process

Admission to LLM course is based on entrance test.

The Shortlisted candidates will be called for Viva-Voce. The components and weightage of marks of admission to the LL.M. (1 year) programme, are as under: 

 Component and Weightage(Max. Marks)

  1. All India Admission Test (Objective Type): 140
  2. Publication / Research/ Writing Skill

Subjective Paper to test the legal writing skills of the candidate (alongwith the All India Admission Test):  40

  1. Viva-Voce (of the shortlisted candidates on merit on the basis of marks obtained in i & ii above):  20

Total:    200

Admission to PG Diploma program shall be made on merit prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination as per the eligibility for individual Post Graduate Diplomas.

Additional 5% weightage in marks will be given to candidates who are law graduates (where law is not the qualifying degree).

Admission to Ph.D. in Law will be given to those candidates who have qualified UGC NET/ JRF or the admission test conducted by the college. Based on admission test shortlisted Candidates shall be called for presentation of their Research Plan and Interview.

Application fee can be paid through online by Net banking/Debit/Credit card/Wallet before last date.

  • LLM course application fee: Application form fee is Rs. Rs. 2500/- +service charges.
  • PG Diploma course application fee: Rs. 2000/-+service charges.
  • Ph.D. course application fee: Rs. 2000/-+service charges.

Indian Law Institute (ILI) was formally inaugurated by the President of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad on December 12, 1957. The Institute is an autonomous body registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. 

The Institute offers LLM, Ph.D and PG Diploma programs for the academic year 2022-2023
