Panjab University, Admission to Ph.D./ M.Phil .courses for the session 2019-2020

ADMISSION SCHEDULE FOR ADMISSION TO PH.D. / M.PHIL COURSES FOR THE SESSION 2019-2020 (EXCEPT FOR THOSE WHO SEEK ADMISSION THROUGH VARIOUS FUNDED PROJECTS)

The Vice-Chancellor has approved the following admission Schedule for Ph.D/ M.Phil courses in the Teaching Departments/P.U. Regional centre, Muktsar for the Session 2019-2020.

Last date for receipt of admission Form for Ph.D / M.Phil courses in respective Departments is 09.09.2019 (Monday):-

Ph.D

• Schedule of Admission: Upto 17.09.2019 (Tuesday)
• Date of Commencement of Classes: 19.09.2019 (Thursday) (For the departments running Ph.D. coursework independent of M.Phil) 30.09.2019 (Monday) (For the departments running coursework of M.Phil and Ph.D. jointly)

M.Phil

• Schedule of Admission: 19.09.2019 (Thursday) to 27.09.19 (Friday)
• Date of Commencement of Classes: 30.09.2019 (Monday)

Candidates who have qualified in M.Phil/ Ph.D. Entrance Test-2019 shall be admitted to M.Phil course and Ph.D. according to UGC Guidelines.

Result of Entrance Test has already been declared and is available at P.U. website http://results.puchd.ac.in/ShowCurrentEntranceResult.aspx .

It may be further noted that the criteria for admission to the M.Phil / Ph.D programme and the schedule have also been uploaded on the PU website. Interested candidates are advised to download the Application Form and apply in the concerned department latest by 09.09.2019 (Monday).

Interview schedule will be decided by the Board of Control of respective departments strictly as per schedule stated above, with the approval of DUI, and will be uploaded on the Online Notice Board.

Admission form must be accompanied by self attested copies of:-

1. M.Phil/ Ph.D. Entrance Test-2019 Result Card.
2. Detailed Marks Card of Master’s Level examinations
3. Character Certificate from the Institution last attended.
4. No Objection Certificate from the employer in case of working candidates.
5. Two self attested photographs.
6. Aadhaar card (as applicable).

Note: Regarding Ph.D proforma, applicants may contact the Chairperson of the concerned Department.
