Selection Process: The admission to the B.Tech. course is through the IIT Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced followed by JoSAA counselling.

The seat allotment is done based on the candidate’s preference for college and IIT Guwahati cutoff.

Candidates who have completed 10+2 with a minimum of 75% aggregate (65% aggregate for SC/ ST) are eligible to apply for B.Tech.

Eligibility: Candidate should have passed 10+2 exam from recognised board.

Students from ALL STREAMS (Science, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities) are eligible.

Selection Procedure: Students are admitted through UCEED exam conducted by IIT Bombay.

The minimum marks requirement is relaxed by lowering 0.5 in CPI or 5% in marks for SC/ ST/ PwD Candidates.

Selection Process: Valid Score in GATE.

GATE 2022 Dates

MBA (2 year)

Eligibility: Candidate should hold a Bachelor's Degree from recognised university/ institute.

Selection Process: The selection process for the MBA program comprises of two stages – Stage I and Stage II.

Stage 1: The composite score for shortlisting the candidates will be based on the following parameter:

Performance in CAT- 70%

Gender Diversity- 10%

Work Experience- 7%

Performance in Class 12th (or Equivalent)- 5%

CAT 2021 Dates

M.Des (2 year)

Eligibility: Candidate should hold

Four-year Bachelors' Degree or equivalent in Design/ Engineering/ Architecture/ Interior Design or a Design related field with a minimum CPI of 6.0 out of 10 or minimum 60 of marks.

Four year Professional Diploma in Design of NID or Professional Diploma of CEPT (5-year programme) with a minimum CPI of 6.0 out of 10 or minimum 60% of marks.

Minimum Marks: Minimum CPI of 6.0 in a 10-point scale or a minimum of 60% of total / aggregate marks in Qualifying Degree.

Minimum CPI of 6.0 or 55% of marks in the qualifying degree/diploma.

Relaxation for SC/ST/PD Candidates: Eligibility criteria will be relaxed by 5% marks or 0.5 CPI for SC/ST/PD  applicants.

Selection Process: Valid Score in CEED.

Regular & IIT B.Tech or B.Des without CEED: The candidates under this category must have BTech or BDes degree from one of the IITs with a minimum CPI / CGPA of 8.0 in a 10-point scale.

They are exempted from the requiement of valid CEED score.

The final admission to the candidates under this cateogry is based on the performance in the written test and / or interview conducted by the concerned academic department/ center, academic credential of the candidates, etc.

Sponsored & Full Time without CEED

The candidates under this category are sponsored (with salary and study leave for 24 months) by a recognized R&D organization, academic institution, governmental organization or industry for doing MDes at IIT Guwahati.

The candidate under this category must be a regular employee of his/her organization with at least 2 (two) years of experience at the time of admission and be engaged in professional work in the discipline in which admission is sought.

The final admission to the candidates under this category is based on the performance in the written test and/ or interview conducted by the concerned academic department/ center, academic credentials of the candidates, etc.

Employed & Part Time without CEED

The candidates under this category are professionally employed personnel (including regular employees of IIT Guwahati), who can attend classes in the first year at the Institute while employed. These candidates should be able to attend regular classes as per the schedule of the Institute.

 The candidate under this category must be a regular employee of his/her organization with at least 2 (two) years of experience at the time of applying and be engaged in professional work in the discipline in which admission is sought.

They should submit No Objection Certificate from the employer along with the application.

Project Staff & Part Time without CEED

 The candidates under this category are presently working in a sponsored R&D projects of IIT Guwahati.

 They should submit No Objection Certificate in prescribed format from IIT Guwahati (Dean-R&D) along with the application. The application without No Objection Certificate will NOT be considered.

 The final admission to the candidates under this category is based on the performance in the written test and/ or interview conducted by the concerned academic department/ center, academic credentials of the candidates, etc.

Four-year Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Design/ Engineering/ Architecture/ Interior Design or a Design related field with a minimum CPI of 6.0 out of 10 or minimum 60 of marks.

Eligibility: Candidate should hold a Bachelor’s  Degree with pattern 10+2+3 or equivalent from a recognized university, in any  discipline.

Minimum marks shall be obtained 50%.

Eligibility requirements for SC/ ST/ OBC candidates will be in accordance with the Supreme Court guidelines.

The students who are awaiting final semester/ year results and those who would be completing a Bachelor’s Degree in the current are also eligible to apply.

Selection Process: Admission to M.A Development Studies is offered based on entrance test and interview.

Eligibility: Interested candidates must hold a Degree in B.E/B.Tech/M.Sc.or equivalent in any discipline. 

Minimum Marks: Minimum CPI of 6.0 in a 10-point scale or a minimum of 60% of total / aggregate marks in Qualifying Degree. 

Relaxation in Minimum Marks for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates: The minimum marks requirement is relaxed by lowering 0.5 in CPI or 5% in marks for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates Regular with GATE/NET-JRF

The candidate under this category must be a regular employee of his/her organization with at least 1 (one) year of experience at the time of admission and be engaged in professional work in the discipline in which admission is sought.

They should submit Sponsorship Letter in prescribed format from the employer along with the application. The application without Sponsorship Letter will NOT be considered.

Employed & Part Time without GATE/ NET-JRF.
