Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D)

Doctoral | Full Time | Duration: 3 Years

Selection Process: All candidates shall have to appear for Research Entrance Test (RET) to be organized by NIFTEM in its campus followed by interview for the candidates who qualify RET. Merit list will be prepared on the basis of RET (70% weightage) and interview (30% weightage). Due weightage will be given to NET/ GATE qualified candidates.

Aspirants seeking admission must have passed M.Tech. in Food Science/ Food Technology and Management/ Food Safety and Quality Management/ Food Supply Chain Management

M.Sc. Degree in Food Science & Technology / Life Science/ Agriculture/ Environmental and Allied area from a recognsied institute/ university.

Ph.D. in Food Science and Technology

The candidate must have passed M.Tech. in Food Science/ Food Technology and Management/ Food Technology/ Food Process Engineering/ Food Engineering/ Dairy Engineering/ Agricultural Engineering (with process and Food Engineering electives)/ Bio-Chemical Engineering/ Chemical Engineering from a recognized university/ institute.

M.Sc. in Food Technology/ Food Science and Technology/ Food Science and Nutrition, Meat Science/ Meat Technology/ M.V.Sc. in Animal Products Technology/ Livestock Products Technology.

Seats:

Ph.D. in Applied Sciences

Aspirants seeking admission must have passed M.Tech. in Food Science/ Food Technology and Management/ Food Technology/ Dairy Technology/ Dairy and Food Technology from a recognized University/ Institute.

In addition M.Sc. Degree from a recognized University/ Institute in Food Technology/ Food Science and Technology/ Microbiology/ Biochemistry are also eligible for admission. Such candidate may be required to undergo deficiency courses as per the curriculum.

Applicant must have Four year BE/ B.Tech. followed by two years of M.E/ MS/ M.Tech. degree in any of the following disciplines of Food Technology and Management/ Food Process Engineering and Management/ Food Technology/ Food Process Engineering/ Food Engineering/ Dairy Engineering/ Dairy Technology/ Agricultural Process Engineering/ Agricultural and Food Engineering/ Agricultural Engineering/ Biochemical Engineering/ Chemical Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University/ Institute.

Ph.D. in Food Business Management and Entrepreneurship Development

Aspirants seeking admission must have passed M.Tech. in Food Technology and Management/Food Process Engineering and Management/Food Plant Operation and Management/Food Safety and Quality Management/Food Supply and Chain Management. OR

MBA (two years program) from a recognized Indian university with a Bachelor`s degree in Science/Engineering/Technology.

PGDM (two years program) from a recognized institute duly approved by AICTE, provided that the institution awarding "PGDM" should be approved by Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to MBA.

Selection Process

Admission to the B.Tech. program is based on rank obtain in JEE MAIN.

Candidate should have secured valid marks in GATE exam to get admission in M.Tech.

MBA admission will be based on rank in entrance exam.

Admission Process

Interested candidates may apply in prescribed application form, downloaded from NIFTEM website, along with information brochure.

The form and the brochure can also be obtained by post on a written request made to the Admission Cell along with a DD of Rs. 350/- towards brochure fee and postal charges.
