Exam Details

National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA ) is being conducted by COA since 2006, in terms of the provisions of CoA (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education) Regulations, 1983, published in the Gazette of India. It is implied that a separate aptitude test in .Architecture should be conducted and such test should not be combined with the tests for admissions to Engineering, Pharmacy, Medicine and other disciplines. Being the competent authority for fixing norms and standards for architectural institutions, COA has the necessary expertise to hold a Common Aptitude Test in Architecture, at national level to provide a single window system for appearing in aptitude test and to facilitate institutions, students and public at large for admission to First year of 5 year B.Arch Degree Course at all recognized Institutions all over country.

Pattern of Questions and Mode of Answering:

The aptitude test will comprise of questions that could be of the Multiple-Choice type (MCQ), MultipleSelect type (MSQ), Preferential Choice type (PCQ) and Numerical Answer type (NAQ).

The questions will carry either 1 mark,2 marks or 3 marks and 125 questions have to be answered in 180minutes

The medium of Aptitude test will be the English language.

The distribution of marks is outlined as follows:

Mathematics (20 Questions Carrying 2 marks each) 40

General Aptitude (40 Questions carrying 2 marks each) 80

Drawing (2 Questions Carrying 40 marks each) 80

Total: 200

Qualifying marks for NATA 2023 would be based on the following rules:

1. At least 25% must be secured in MCQ portion (30 out of 120)

2. At least 25% must be secured in Drawing portion (20 out of 80)

3. Overall qualifying marks (out of 200) would be based on post-exam statistics and at the discretion of the Council.

Candidate will not qualify in NATA 2023 unless (s)he satisfies all three conditions mentioned above.

Result format:

Results will be available in the website www.nata.in which will be announced in various electronic/printing media before declaration of results.

Candidates must bring with them at the exam center:

i. Downloaded Admit Card of NATA- 2023.

ii. Original Proof of Identity- Aadhar/ Passport/ Driving License/ Voter ID/Valid Photo  ID document

A photograph of the candidate will be taken at the Centre before the candidate is indicated his seat for taking the examination. The seat will be randomly allotted to the candidate on completing the procedure.

Second NATA Examination: 03.06.2023

Third NATA Examination: 09.07.2023

Eligibility

Passed 10+2 exam with minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and also 50% marks in aggregate at 10+2 level examination.

Reservation as well as relaxation in qualifying marks for the reserved category for the purpose of admission isa prerogative of the Admission/ Counselling Authority and does not fall under the purview of this examination.

Admission process

Read the online instructions carefully before filling-in of the Application Form online.

2. Specify all personal information, address and date of birth correctly.

3. Remember your application number, security question/answer and password.

4. Choose the examination centres correctly.

5. Upload colour photograph and signature of specified size only

6. Retain a copy of the Confirmation Page.

7. Follow the time schedule as mentioned in the brochure and Admit Card.

8. Carry printed copy of Admit to the examination hall. Only candidates with Admit Card shall be granted entry in the examination hall.

Filling up the application form is in two stages as outlined:

Stage I – Registration Process

Step 1: Visit NATA portal at www.nata.in or Click here to Apply Online.

Step 2: Click on Register Now button and it will take you to the Login Page.

Step 3: Again click Register Now button for signing up the User Account Registration. Fill-in the MANDATORY fields and click on Sign up.

Step 4: Once you have successfully signed up. Click on Login to continue, login with your chosen credentials.

Note: To create your credentials candidates are required to provide a login ID and password.

Stage II Submission of Application Form 

Step 1: Login into NATA 2021 portal with chosen credentials, and Click on Apply Now button which will be directed to the application form.

Step 2: Fill-in the MANDATORY fields.

Step 3: Upload the required documents and click on Preview button to preview the filled in application form then click on Submit button to submit the form. Once the form is submitted, no changes will be entertained, so carefully fill-in the application form.

Step 4: Once the application form submitted, it will be redirected to Payment Gateway page. Kindly provide the required inputs for payment process.

Step 5: Upon successful fee payment, you will get land up in confirmation page contains Application No and Transaction No., kindly take a printout of it as a proof of application form submission.

Admit Card

Candidate is required to download the soft copy of the Admit Card from the website and must appear in the examination with a printed hard copy at the concerned Examination Centre indicated in the downloaded Admit Card along with one original photo identity card- Voter Card/ Pan Card/ Aadhar Card/ Driving Licence.

Candidates must ensure that the photograph and signature printed on the admit card are not mutilated / distorted / soiled even by accident. Candidates with such mutilated / distorted / soiled admit cards will not be allowed to appear in NATA-2023.

Answer Keys

After the examination, Answer Key to questions of the NATA 2023 test paper would be available in public domain. The Answer Key and the marks allotted for each question as fixed by the Council shall be treated as final.

Post Answer Key publication, a candidate can opt to view his/her answer script on payment of Rs. 3,000/- (Rupees Three thousand only) for each test written.

For this process the candidate will have to fill in an online form and make online payment within three days of result publication. No requests will be entertained further to this.

Qualifying Marks

Minimum marks shall be obtained 50% to be eligible for the exam.

Score Result

Results will be available in the website www.nata.in The score card will display the following:

1. Marks obtained in the exam out of 200

(a) In case the candidate appears for more than one test all scores received  in the attempts will be displayed.

(b) In case a candidate appears for 2 Tests, best of the 2 scores shall be  taken as the valid score and in the case of 3 attempts, valid score shall  be taken as the average of the 2 best scores.

2. Qualified/ Not Qualified Qualifying marks for NATA- 2023 is 70 marks out of 200 marks.
