The Karnataka Common Entrance Test 2018 (KCET) is being conducted for the purpose of determining theeligibility / merit, for admission of Karnataka candidates and the ward/s of Jammu & Kashmirimigrants to the First year or First semester of full time courses for Government share of seats inMedical, Dental, Ayurveda, Naturopathy & Yoga, Unani, Homoeopathy, Engineering, Technology,Architecture, Farm Science courses i.e, Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry(B.V.Sc. & A.H.) B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture, B.Sc. (Hons) Sericulture, B.Sc (Hons) Horticulture, B.Sc(Hons) Forestry, B.Sc. Agri Bio Tech, B.HSc.(Home Science), B.Tech (Agri.Engg), B.Tech (FoodTechnology), B.Tech (Dairy Tech), B.F.Sc (Fisheries), B.Tech (Food Science &Tech)., B.Sc. (Hons) Agri.Marketing &   Co-Op, B. Pharma and Pharma-D course, in Government / University / Private Aided /Private Un-Aided Professional Educational Institutions in the State of Karnataka for the academicyear 2018-19. 

Eligibility

Medical / Dental courses (MBBS / BDS): Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std / Equivalent Exam with English as one of the Languagesand obtained a Minimum of 50% of Marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biologysubjects. (40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates) 

AYUSH - courses Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Homoeopathy : Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std / Equivalent Exam with English as one of the Languagesand obtained a Minimum of 50% of Marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biologysubjects. (40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates) 

Architecture course (B.Arch): Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std / Equivalent Exam with Mathematics as Compulsoryoptional subject and obtained a Minimum of 50% of Marks in aggregate in all thesubjects. (45% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates) .
Engineering / Technology courses (B.E. / B.Tech): Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std / Equivalent Exam with English as one of the Languagesand obtained a Minimum of 45% of Marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics alongwith Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Electronics / Computer. (40% for SC, ST, Cat1,2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates) 

Farm Science courses means, B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture, B.Sc. (Hons) Sericulture, B.Sc (Hons) Horticulture, B.Sc (Hons) Forestry, B.Sc. Agri Bio Tech, B.H.Sc.(Home Science), B.Tech (Agri.Engg),  B.Tech (Food Technology), B.Tech (Dairy Tech),  B.F.Sc (Fisheries),B.Tech (Food Science &Tech)., B.Sc. (Hons) Agri. Marketing &   o-Op.:    Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std / Equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematicsand Biology as optional subjects. a. In the case of Agriculturist Quota, the merit list will be prepared based on 25% marks each, secured in concernedcombinations in II year PUC (PCMB) & CET and 50% marks secured in the Practical Test. In case of B.V.Sc & AH meritwill be prepared based on 50% of Marks secured in CET (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) and 50% of marks scored inthe practical test.b. Minimum of 50% marks in Practical Examination is required to claim seat under Agriculturist Quota. Further, AgriculturistQuota is applicable only for course.

Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V. Sc. & A.H.) : Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std. and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks inPhysics, Chemistry, Biology and English subjects. (40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and3B category candidates).

B-Pharma: Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Physics, Chemistryand Mathematics and obtained a Minimum of 45% of Marks in aggregate in Physics,Chemistry, Biology subjects. (40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B categorycandidates) ORPassed in Diploma in Pharmacy Examination from an institution approved by thePharmacy Council of India Under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act and has securedminimum of 45% marks. (40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates).

2nd Year B. Pharma: Passed in Diploma in Pharmacy Examination from an institution approved by thePharmacy Council of India Under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act and has securedminimum of 45% marks. (40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B categorycandidates).

Pharma-D: Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Physics, Chemistryand Mathematics. ORPassed in Diploma in Pharmacy Examination from an institution approved by thePharmacy Council of India Under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act. 

Admission process

Step1: Enter all the details through ONLINE by browsing URL on website http://kea.kar.nic.in by selecting “CET-2018 UG Online Application”. After completion of entry of all the details candidate’s will receive an application ID and Password to their registered mobile phone number and to email address and also the same information will be displayed on the screen.

Step 2: Upload the scanned copy of recent passport size Colour Photograph, Signature and Left Hand Thumb Impression in JPG / JPEG format separately.

Step 3: Print the Challan copy which is in triplicate. In the Challan, the details of the candidate will be pre-printed, such as Name, CET Number, College / Course Allotted details, Fee to be paid, Bank Account Number.

Candidates of Karnataka origin have to pay an amount of Rs. 650/- for General and OBC (Rs.500/- for SC / ST Category-1 of Karnataka candidates only). Rs.750/- in case of candidates residing outside the state of Karnataka and Rs.5,000/- in case of candidates residing outside India.

The candidates have to pay the requisite fee in any of the branch of the Banks specified. The bank will retain bank copy of the Challan with them and handover the remaining two copies of the Challan to the candidates.

The candidates who are residing outside India shall pay the  fees in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, payable at Bangalore, the demand draft should be sent to KEA address by mentioning the application number.

Step 4: Take a printout of the application form on A-4 Size paper. Obtain Principal seal and signature from the college where you have studied 2nd PUC or 12th Standard on the space provided in the printed form. The same copy should be produced during document verification.
