Exam Details

CTET 2021 (Central Teacher Eligibility Test)  is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi. It is national leverl entrance test to appoint teachers for Primary level and Upper Primary level. It conducted two times in a year December and July. 

Structure of CTET 2021

All questions in CTET will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), with four alternatives out of which one answer will be most appropriate.

Each carrying one mark and there will be no negative marking.

There will be two papers of CTET

(i) Paper I will be for a person who intents to be a teacher for classes I to V.

(ii) Paper II will be for a person who intents to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.

Note: A person who intents to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).

Language of Question Paper

Main question paper shall be Bilingual (Hindi/ English).

Validity period of CTET Certificate

The Validity Period of CTET qualifying certificate for appointment will be seven years from the date of declaration of its result for all categories,

There is no restriction on the number of attempts a person can take for acquiring a CTET Certificate.

A person who has qualified CTET may also appear again for improving his/her score.

Eligibility

Eligibility criteria for classes I-V: Primary Stage

Candidate pass senior secondary or equivalent with minimum 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education.

Or

Senior Secondary or equivalent with minimum 45%marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.

Or

Senior Secondary or equivalent with minimum50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed).

Or

Senior Secondary or equivalent with minimum50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

Or

Candidate pass bachelor's degree with minimum 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) from any NCTE recognized institution shall be eligibile.

Eligibility criteria for classes VI-VIII: Elementary Stage

Candidate passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

Or

Pass bachelor's degree with minimum 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).

Or

Pass bachelor's degree with minimum 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).

Or

Pass Senior Secondary or equivalent with minimum 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year

of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed).

Or

Pass Senior Secondary or equivalent with minimum 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year

of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.

Or

Candidate pass bachelor's degree with minimum 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).

Or

Any candidate qualified B.Ed. Programme recognized by the NCTE.

Relaxation up to 5% for reserved categoery candidate such as SC/ST/OBC/Differently abled.

Fees

Examination fee:

General/OBC (NCL) Only Paper I or II: Rs. 1,000/-

General/OBC Both Paper I and II: Rs. 1,200/- 

SC/ST/Diff. Abled Person Only Paper I or II: Rs.  500/-

SC/ST/Diff. Abled Person Both Paper I and II: Rs. 600/-

GST will be charges extra by bank.

Mode of Payment:

  • Remittance through E-Challan by depositing the prescribed fee in CTET Exam Fee Account with Syndicate Bank or Canara Bank.
  • Payment by Syndicate Bank e-Challan
  • Payment by Canara Bank e-Challan
  • By Online-mode (Payment by Debit Card / Credit Card).

Admission process

A candidate can apply by visiting official website www.ctet.nic.in only.

Candidate make ready required docuements before applying.

  • Scanned image of latest photograph and signature in JPG/JPEG format only, for uploading.
  • A copy of Class Xth Certificate.

Method of Submission of Online Application Form

STEP1: Log on to CTET official website www.ctet.nic.in.

STEP2: Go to the link “Apply Online” and open the same.

STEP3: Fill in the Online Application Form and note down Registration No./Application No.

STEP4: Upload Scanned Images of latest Photograph and Signature

STEP5: Pay Examination Fee by e-challan or debit/credit card

STEP6: Print Confirmation page for record and future reference.

Upload  following Scanned Images:

  • Uploading of scanned Photo andSignature are mandatory
  • Upload scanned photograph and signature in JPG/JPEGformat.
  • Size of scanned photograph should be between 10 to 100KB
  • Image Dimension of photograph should be 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height).
  • Size of scanned signature should be between 3 to 30KB.
  • Image Dimension of signature should be 3.5 cm (length) x 1.5 cm (height)

Admit Card

The candidates may download e-Admit Card from CTET official website and appear for the examination at the given Centre.

In case of any discrepancy noticed in e-admit card regarding particulars of candidate, photograph and signature or any other information which is different from confirmation page, he/she may immediately contact CTET Unit for necessary corrections.

The candidates shall report at the Examination Centre at 7:30 AM for Shift – I and 12.30PM for Shift – II i.e. 120 minutes before the commencement of the examination. Candidate(s) who report(s) at the examination centre after 9:30 AM in SHIFT-I and after 2:30 PM in SHIFTII shall not be allowed to appear in the examination.The candidates are advised to read the instructions on the admit card carefully and follow themduring the conduct of the examination.
